Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. She is most famous for playing the role of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). In her role as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended following the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech/family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian and of English descent. Sedgwick has announced that she's Jewish and has been a participant in Passover meals.
