Kamala Harris
Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20th 1964) was an American lawyer, politician, and the current vice president of United States. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president, and is also the highest-ranking female officer in the history of America. She is a senator and former senator from California. Born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later recruited by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003, she became the San Francisco district attorney. She was elected Attorney general of California in 2010. In 2014, she won re-election. Harris was the junior member of the United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Martinez in the 2016 Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator who fought for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway to citizenship for undocumented migrants. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She was well-known for her direct questions to Trump government officials in Senate hearings.
